Ella & Kamila | Rohr Park | Bonita, California

Eight year-old Ella and two year-old Kamila have Thalassemia, also known as Cooley’s Anemia.  It’s a chronic illness that causes life threatening anemia.  They both receive blood transfusions every 2 to 3 weeks and will continue to receive them for the rest of their lives.  Ella’s mom Erica and Kamila’s mom Maria are hosting a blood drive with the San Diego Blood Bank.  It will be on World Thalassemia Day, Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm.  This blood drive that they will be hosting will be at St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove.  Address is 8086 Broadway, Lemon Grove, 919145.  Click here for more information.  This is a family event.  There will be a toy drive, silent auction, car & bike show, fun zone 4 kids, food trucks and live entertainment.  Please take some time to donate blood for a good cause and enjoy the day with your family.
